Suber S. Huang, MD, MBA is a retina surgeon-scientist, president and creative lead for SH Creative Arts, the Future Vision Foundation (FVF), and founder of the ASRS Retina Image Bank. His artistic work seeks to reveal and celebrate the miracle of sight (shcreativeart.com). He is executive officer of Cleveland PhotoFest and has a passion for connecting people who love the visual arts. Notable among his photographic awards, he has been honored with an invitation to exhibit at the prestigious New York Foundation of the Arts. As President and Executive Producer of FVF (futurevisionfound.org), he has combined visual science and the visual arts to create films which highlight the work of extraordinary vision scientists through powerful documentaries of discovery, impact, and hope. His films received best of show awards for “A Candle in the Dark” at the American Society of Retina Specialists film festival and “Seven Years of Darkness” at the National Short Film Festival. Dr. Huang is the founder and curator of the ASRS Retina Image Bank (imagebank.asrs.org). Now the largest and most comprehensive open access site for “all things retina”, the Image Bank has been used in all but fourteen countries in the world and has garnered over 2.5 million page views since its inception. He lives in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
